The Final Stage

Now that the customer has received her portrait, I can upload the final video showing the finishing stages.

In this video you will see how I built up the fur around the neck, first marking in the direction of the fur, then adding the shadows in between. This is a process that I go over several times as often the lighter shades and some of the detail get covered by the darker shades, so it can be a long process, going backwards and forwards working the darks and lights.

The last clip is of the completed portrait. I darkened the background as some of the fur was light grey and did not show up too well on the similar coloured background.

I am pleased to say the customer loved it.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the little clips of how I work. It would be lovely to hear from you, so if you do have any questions please contact me or click the live chat button.

New painting added

I have added a new painting to my shop. It's a Robin painted in watercolour on a beautiful background. Please take a look. It would make a lovely Christmas gift.
